Our purpose is to promote the physical and emotional well-being of breast cancer survivors.
Our role as agents of change in the lives of every woman who is part of UMAUMA is to provide physical and emotional well-being and improve the overall quality of life through sport and education for breast cancer survivors using Dragon Boat canoeing .
Furthermore, we work tirelessly to promote adjuvant rehabilitation and prevention of conditions such as lymphedema in women diagnosed with breast cancer, with the support of a specialized and multidisciplinary team of volunteers prepared to assist survivors (BCS - Breast Cancer Survivors) and other supporting rowers.

OUR HISTORY
My name is Alessandra Rodrigues Pereira, and I have a degree and postgraduate degree in Physical Education. Today I am a Personal Trainer and, since 1989, a canoe athlete in the following disciplines: Sprint, Va'a, and, since 2018, Dragon Boat. Over the years, I have won several titles, both nationally and internationally.
In September 2018, I started forming the UMAUMA Dragon Boat Brazil team, taking on the role of coach. I had the opportunity to share this beautiful story as a speaker at TEDx São Paulo.
My greatest emotion was seeing my mother, Rosa, a breast cancer patient, rowing and regaining her joy of living at UMAUMA.
